Many tools, resources and materials have been generated to capture best practices for pandemic preparedness and response based on learnings before, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. This information is shared in a variety of locations and formats, including individually published papers, websites, and conference presentations, to name a few. A Pandemic Preparedness and Response Playbook is being created to enable access to these learnings in a single location.
It is not our intention to duplicate the excellent work already available in other forums, but rather to provide visibility to that work to those involved in an outbreak response. Sixteen primary chapters addressing the end-to-end disease monitoring and vaccine development and supply processes are envisioned, with an additional 8 supportive chapters to address considerations like Legal and Human Resources. We will share chapters as they become available but recognize that adaptation will be needed as more is learned.
There are many contributors to this information, which is governed by a set of principles agreed to by a Steering Committee that is made up of thought leaders throughout the outbreak response community. If you are interested in contributing to the Playbook or providing feedback, please submit your request to [email protected].
